Social Protection Office:

The Social Protection Office (SPO) was set up in the Tata Institute of Social Sciences to promote the special interests of students in the reserved category with financial assistance from the University Grants Commission. Since its inception, SPO has been providing special inputs in areas where the students experience difficulties.

SPO conducts regular remedial coaching classes on life skills, personality development, writing assignments and making presentations, as well as Hindi and Marathi language classes. SPO also organizes interactive sessions and informal meetings with students to attend to their personal, social and academic problems.

Manual has been prepared in order to guide the students to optimally utilise the benefits of the schemes offered by the Government of India and the University Grants Commission.
