The partnership aims to provide support to Government of Telangana and other development partners in planning, implementation and monitoring of Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) and Social and Behaviors Change Communication (SBCC) interventions for COVID-19 specific and other sensitive issues. A wide range of partners and their networks are being mobilized and trained through this partnership and involved in RCCE and SBCC activities.
TISS is building the capacities of the multi stakeholder platforms identified by the district administration depending on their roles and responsibilities. The capacity development is being focused on developing district level communication plans that would focus on the delivery of Covid 19 CAB protocols, vaccination related messaging to the families and communities of the selected 16 districts of Telangana. TISS is bringing in gender responsive aspects with in their training which for specific programming like Anemia Mukt Bharat and SAM children with departments working with women and child development to look out for prioritization of these issues while developing their SBCC plans and their roll out of Covid 19 initiatives. There is a need to focus on building suitable social and behavior change communication strategies to generate awareness and knowledge on schemes, programmes of the Government as well as other social issues adversely affecting women and girls.
