The Internal Committee (IC) against sexual harassment, which is constituted under section 4 of the UGC regulations (2013), has two primary functions – remedial and preventive. It aims to:
a) Serve as a Grievance Redressal Mechanism for addressing complaints of sexual harassment by women students, employees and all other staff in the campus and work for the resolution of the same
b) Prevent or deter the commission of acts of sexual harassment
The Internal Committee (IC) at TISS Hyderabad campus comprises of the following members:

The IC at TISS Hyderabad campus functions in accordance with the rules and regulations specified by TISS, the details of which are available here.
The IC works closely with the Women and Gender Development Cell (WGDC), which includes elected student representatives. While the IC specifically addresses complaints of sexual harassment, the mandate of the WGDC is broader. WGDC conducts outreach work for gender awareness and also identifies and provides support for those facing discrimination. It creates an enabling environment in which women and persons with gender non-normative behaviours can share their problems and difficulties if any. Overall, the WGDC works toward creating a gender-aware and gender-just campus.
