My research interest is in the area of graphicacy in general and the use of graphs in particular. Graphicacy is understood in a broad sense as the ability to understand and create graphics. My work includes developing activities with emphasis on graphs and handling real-world data.
I am also interested in exploring the use of technology to change the learning experiences in science and mathematics. Towards this end, I have designed and developed two digital literacy courses.
I am also interested in the history and philosophy of science, and science and mathematics popularisation. In particular, I am interested in the historical evolution of scientific ideas.

Connected Learning Initiative (CLIx) (April 2015 to date) I was one of the lead designer and developer of the Invitation to CLIx (i2C) an introductory course in the CLIx project. My responsibilities included designing the course modules, pilot testing of the course on the field, providing training of trainers and supporting the implementation of the course. I have also designed and developed the Linear equations module in the CLIx mathematics offering.
Digital Literacy Course, NUSSD Programme (August 2013 - January 2015) I was part of the team that designed and developed the Digital Literacy online course of the National University Student Skill Development Programme of Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. My responsibilities included designing the course modules, pilot testing of the course on the field, providing training of trainers and supporting the implementation of the course.

I have been involved in designing and developing teaching-learning materials at various levels, including design, development and authoring of MOOCs.
Handbook of Activities for Summer Camp in Astronomy conducted annually at IUCAA, Pune, India.
Lead designer and developer of a digital literacy course for undergraduate students under the National University Student Skills Development (NUSSD) programme. This course was hosted on the OpenEdX platform.
Lead designer and developer of the Invitation to CLIx (I2C) course for the Connected Learning Initiative (CLIx) programme. This included creating student as well as teacher support materials.

Teacher Training Workshops
Since 2009, I have been a resource person for several teacher training workshops on Free Software in education held across the country. These workshops were done for teachers from primary to college level and included hands-on sessions with teachers and teacher trainers. I was also part of the organizing team in many of these workshops.
I have been also involved in master teacher training workshops for National University Student Skills Development (NUSSD) programme (2012-2014).
Over the last three years (from 2015) I have undertaken several workshops for teachers and teacher trainers in the context of Connected Learning Initiative (CLIx) programme.
One Laptop Per Child, India
I am also the part of the ongoing pilot project of One Laptop Per Child project in India since 2009.
Workshops for students
I have been part of Summer Astronomy Camp for School Students from 2011 at Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics, Pune. I have also been part of organizing and conducting workshops on Free Software for school children.
I have been mentoring engineering students for project work since 2008. The projects involved making prototype of real-world data acquisition and subsequent presentation and analysis.
Over the years I have taught various courses at the undergraduate, masters and graduate levels.
