Dr. Prathibha Ganesan is an Assistant Professor at the School of Habitat Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences. She received her Ph.D. in Science Policy from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi in 2014. After earning her doctorate, she worked with the National Health Systems Resource Centre, New Delhi as a consultant to the Technical Resource Group to National Urban Health Mission. Later she worked with Public Health Foundation of India and with Public Policy Research Institute, Thiruvananthapuram. Her areas of interest include Sanitation, Solid Waste Management, and Social Determinants of Health. She teaches Urban Sanitation and Solid waste management; Water Quality and Health; and Qualitative Research Methods to master’s students of the School of Habitat Studies. She also manages the overall administrative and academic activities of the Centre for Environmental Health at TISS. She is currently leading a research project on shared sanitation facilities in Mumbai which examines the sustainability aspects.
