Rima Debnath is an Assistant Professor (Economics) at the centre for Labour Studies and Social Protection, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Guwahati Campus. Previously she taught at Dispur College, Guwahati (Assam) as a contractual faculty; at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Guwahati Campus as a Guest Faculty.
She did her M.A (Economics) under Gauhati University and M.Phil from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Guwahati Campus.
She teaches courses on Classical Political Economy, Tea Plantation Industry in India and Economic and Social Security.
Her research interest concerns labour migration, livelihood, informal economy and labour studies.
