Dr.Ruchi Singh is Assistant Professor in Centre for Labor Studies, School of Management and Labor Studies at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, (TISS) Mumbai, India. She holds a PhD from School of Economics, Central University of Hyderabad, India and M.Phil from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay, India. She has done her Post-Doctorate from Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore. Before joining TISS, Mumbai she has worked as Post Doctoral Researcher at IIM-B, and has worked as Assistant Professor at Prin.L.N.Welingkar Institute of Managment, Development & Research, Mumbai and Bengaluru for roughly 4 and half years.
She has published a book “Exodus of Men from Rural Uttar Pradesh,” published by Transnational Press London, United Kingdom recently.She has published range of papers in journal of good repute in migration studies and related field, including Migration Letters, Remittances Review, Migration Information Source etc. She has also contributed various chapters in many edited books published by reputed publisher such as Taylor and Francis, Edward Elgar etc. She has presented research papers at various national and international forum such as in Oxford University, United kingdom ,Harokopio univeristy , Athens Greece, European University Institute (EUI), Florence, Italy etc. She has also been granted and completed (Project Co-Investigator) IMPRESS-ICSSR major project on Rural –Urban Migration of INR 1.5 million (15 lakhs) in 2021. She is an executive member of Global Research Forum on Diaspora and Transnationalism (GRFDT) and is currently holding the position of State President-Karnataka in Women's Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry, (WICCI).
