I am a clinical psychologist by training, working as Assistant Professor in the School of Human Ecology.

I completed my Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Psychology from the University of Calcutta and then received my M.Phil training from the National Institute of Mental Health And Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) Bangalore. I am also trained in several trauma-focused approaches to therapy including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS)Therapy, Clinical Hypnosis and Neurofeedback. 

I am also the founder-trustee of Humane For Animals Society, a not-for-profit organization that works towards resolution of human-animal conflicts and rehabilitation of homeless animals. 

My research interests include:

1) Traumatic Stress and Adaptation

2) Neuropsychology of decision making - trust, volunteering behavior, deceptive behavior using both experimental paradigm and neuropsychological assessments.

3) Online Behavior - Gaming, trolling and online bullying using a range of methodologies including data mining

4) Compassion research - including Compassion Fatigue and Pro-Environmental Behaviors

5) Suicidality and its correlates

6) Perfectionism: correlates and the construct in the Ideation-to-Action framework
