Viraj Varma is an Associate Professor at the School of Management and Labour Studies at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. He has a degree in mechanical engineering from Jadavpur University, an MBA from IIT Kharagpur, an MS in Human Resource Management and a Ph.D. in Management from Auburn University, USA. He has over nine years of experience in engineering and management consulting prior to moving to academics in 2005.
His areas of research interest include organizational change, strategizing activities and practices, middle managers, organizational identity and identification, human resource management, and management pedagogy.
